TAINTLIGHT

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Taintlight', director Chris Seaver offers a playful, albeit low-budget, parody that leans heavily into the tropes of the vampire romance genre. The film centers on Stella, a young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn when she becomes entangled with Edgar, a centuries-old vampire whose ageless charm is matched only by his impeccably styled hair. While the premise echoes the massive success of 'Twilight', Seaver's film carves its own niche by embracing a more comedic and self-aware tone. Meredith Host, Kurt Indovina, and Jesse Green deliver performances that embrace the absurdity of the narrative, making 'Taintlight' a curious watch for fans of genre send-ups. Though it may not possess the polish of its inspirations, its earnest commitment to its campy vision provides moments of genuine amusement.
