SUSPICIOUS YACHT IS BOARDED AND SEARCHED | CUSTOMS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary-style program from Customs offers a gripping, behind-the-scenes look at the intricate and often tense operations involved in border security. Focusing on the UK's ports and airports, the narrative follows dedicated officers as they employ sophisticated technology, like large-scale X-ray scanners, to intercept illicit goods. The episode highlights a tense moment in Dover where officers suspect a truck filled with chipboard conceals millions of illegal cigarettes, showcasing the blend of intuition and technology crucial to their work. Separately, the crew of the vessel Searcher diligently patrols the waters, their attention drawn to a lone yacht originating from the Canaries—a known transit point for narcotics. The meticulous boarding and search of this yacht underscore the constant vigilance required to combat drug smuggling. Furthermore, the program provides glimpses into the passenger and baggage checks at Gatwick and Bristol Airports, illustrating the multifaceted approach to preventing prohibited items from entering the country. It's a compelling portrayal of the unsung heroes safeguarding national borders.
