SUPER PLATOON

Cinemavixion Review

Godfrey Ho's 'Super Platoon' plunges viewers into the heart of the Vietnam War with a no-holds-barred rescue mission. Released in 1987, this action-packed film masterfully blends the brutal realities of guerrilla warfare with the visceral thrill of martial arts combat. The narrative follows an elite unit deep into enemy territory, tasked with extracting captured American POWs and civilians from the clutches of the Vietcong. Ho delivers a relentless pace, punctuated by intense firefights and expertly choreographed hand-to-hand battles, characteristic of the era's most explosive action cinema. While the film may not shy away from gritty depictions, it offers a compelling, albeit straightforward, tale of courage and survival amidst the chaos of war.
