SUM OF EXISTENCE

Cinemavixion Review

Jon Cohen's "Sum of Existence" is a harrowing descent into the psychological aftermath of trauma and the insidious nature of manipulation. The film masterfully chronicles Liz's struggle to reclaim her fractured memories after a brutal attack, only to find her tormentor poised to ensure her silence. Cohen, who also penned the screenplay, crafts a narrative that is as intellectually stimulating as it is emotionally devastating, exploring themes of survival, gaslighting, and the fragile line between healing and repression. Brooke Anderson delivers a compelling performance as Liz, navigating the character's vulnerability and burgeoning resilience with palpable intensity. Simone Kessell and Josh Picker provide strong support, anchoring the film's dramatic weight. While the external data notes a 2005 release year and a Thriller/Crime/Drama genre classification, the local data's description perfectly encapsulates the film's core conflict and its appeal to fans of suspenseful psychological thrillers. "Sum of Existence" is a potent reminder of the enduring strength of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable adversity, offering a complex and unsettling cinematic experience.
