SUBMERGED: THE HUNLEY | A MISSION THAT CHANGED WARFARE FOREVER

Cinemavixion Review

Christopher Forbes' "SUBMERGED: THE HUNLEY" plunges viewers into the heart of a pivotal moment in naval history. Set against the backdrop of the American Civil War in 1863, the film chronicles the daring mission of the H.L. Hunley, the first submarine to successfully sink an enemy vessel. The narrative intimately explores the lives and motivations of its courageous crew, culminating in their historic encounter with the U.S.S. Housatonic in Charleston Harbor. This audacious act irrevocably altered the course of naval warfare, prompting a global shift from wooden ships to the submarines and ironclads that define modern navies. The film serves as a compelling testament to human ingenuity and the profound impact a single mission can have on the trajectory of history.
