STRAWBERRY SMELL

Cinemavixion Review

The premise of "Strawberry Smell" (Çilek Kokusu) introduces a classic romantic comedy setup: the collision of opposites. Aslı, a spirited and sincere young woman, finds her life upended when she loses her job due to the impulsive actions of Burak, a character described as arrogant and rebellious. The narrative quickly establishes a compelling dynamic as Aslı, seeking a change of scenery and an opportunity, agrees to accompany her best friend Gonca to Bodrum, despite her mother's reservations. Concurrently, Burak's father, weary of his son's irresponsibility, dispatches him to manage a newly acquired hotel. Fate intervenes when Aslı and Burak, strangers with vastly different outlooks, are unexpectedly seated together on the same flight to Bodrum. Their initial interactions are fraught with bickering and mutual disdain, each convinced they will never cross paths again. However, the story hints at a deeper design, suggesting that their paths are destined to intertwine further, promising a journey filled with clashes, unexpected turns, and the potential for burgeoning romance against the backdrop of the picturesque Bodrum.
