STRANGE FILES OF CAPTAIN ORELLANA

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Strange Files Of Captain Orellana,' Javier Tessari crafts a peculiar blend of crime, mystery, and dark humor, loosely inspired by purported true events. The narrative follows Captain Orellana, a private detective whose sharp, scientific mind is thrust into the heart of a remote village plagued by inexplicable phenomena. As the villagers exhibit unsettling behaviors – speaking in unknown tongues and suffering violent convulsions – Orellana must sift through the fear of demonic possession to unearth a rational explanation. The film attempts to balance suspense with comedic elements, offering a unique, if occasionally uneven, adventure that challenges perceptions of the unexplained. Andrea Ayala, Jorge Bac, and Yolanda Coronado lend their talents to this intriguing, offbeat mystery.
