STAY

Cinemavixion Review

Darryl Wharton's 'Stay' is a poignant exploration of addiction, redemption, and the ephemeral nature of human connection. Shogen delivers a raw and compelling performance as a recovering addict whose world is irrevocably altered by the arrival of a free-spirited woman, portrayed with captivating energy by Ana Tanaka. The film masterfully navigates the complexities of a life on the edge, illustrating how even the most profound relationships can be transient. Despite its challenging themes, the narrative offers moments of profound beauty and introspection, underscored by a resonant score and thoughtful direction. While critical reception, as indicated by Rotten Tomatoes, suggests a divisive viewing experience, its strong IMDb rating and the emotional depth of its central performances make 'Stay' a worthy, albeit melancholic, watch for those drawn to character-driven dramas.
