STAR KNIGHT

Cinemavixion Review

Fernando Colomo's "Star Knight" (1985) is a fascinatingly anachronistic blend of medieval fantasy and science fiction. The film posits a unique premise: Princess Alba is seemingly abducted by a dragon, only for the narrative to pivot towards a cosmic revelation – the dragon is, in fact, an alien spacecraft. This sets the stage for a peculiar romance between the princess and her captor, exploring themes of love transcending earthly boundaries. Klaus Kinski, Harvey Keitel, and Fernando Rey anchor the film with their performances, adding gravitas to the unconventional story. While its reception may be mixed, as indicated by its IMDb rating, "Star Knight" offers a singular vision, boldly merging genres and challenging conventional storytelling. It remains a curious artifact of 80s cinema, worthy of discovery for its sheer audacity.
