STAND

Cinemavixion Review

Cosmos Kiindarius's 2016 thriller, "Stand," offers a potent dose of suspense on a micro-budget, drawing comparisons to the claustrophobic tension of "Open Water." The film masterfully navigates the perilous landscape of Vietnam, following two American brothers whose journey takes a terrifying turn when they stray into an active minefield. This high-concept premise, relying on the lingering dangers of war, is executed with a keen sense of dread. Despite its limited resources, "Stand" delivers a gripping narrative, anchored by strong performances from Luke Albright, Luis Carazo, and Allen Lai, making it a compelling watch for fans of survival thrillers.
