STAND

Cinemavixion Review

Luis Carazo's 'Stand' plunges viewers into a harrowing predicament, presenting a taut thriller centered on two American brothers trapped in the present-day jungles of Vietnam. The premise, chillingly simple yet profoundly effective, sees the siblings ensnared by forgotten land mines, a stark reminder of the conflict's enduring legacy. Carazo, who also stars in the film, crafts an atmosphere of palpable tension, forcing an intimate examination of survival against overwhelming odds. The performances, particularly from the central cast, convey the escalating fear and desperate ingenuity required to navigate such a perilous situation. While the film grapples with themes of consequence and the lingering specters of war, it is the sheer, suffocating suspense that truly defines the experience. 'Stand' is a potent exploration of human resilience tested at the very edge of existence.
