STAN LAUREL: PIE-EYED

Cinemavixion Review

This short film plunges us into the boozy late-night world of the Firewater Club, where the legendary Stan Laurel finds himself inebriated and disruptive. As Stanley attempts to conduct the orchestra and later makes advances towards the manager's wife, the situation escalates predictably. The narrative, set against the backdrop of a club grappling with its unruly patron, highlights Laurel's capacity for physical comedy and the ensuing chaos that often followed his characters. While the specifics of its release and directorial credit are absent, the core of a classic Laurel performance—marked by escalating misfortune and comedic tension—is evident.
