STALIN'S LIFELINE: THE ALLIED CONVOYS THROUGH THE ARCTIC | WORST JOURNEY IN THE WORLD

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the critical yet often overlooked Allied convoys that braved the treacherous Arctic waters to supply the Soviet Union during World War II. Launched as Operation Dervish in August 1941, these perilous journeys were a testament to the strategic alliance between the UK and the USSR, initiated by Churchill to support Stalin's war effort against the invading German forces. The film highlights the vital role these supply lines played in sustaining the Soviet Union's capacity to fight on the Eastern Front, providing essential raw materials, fuel, military equipment, and food. It's a compelling look at a crucial chapter of the war, emphasizing the courage and resilience required to execute such a dangerous mission and its profound impact on the course of the conflict.
