SPLIT SECOND

Cinemavixion Review

Tony Maylam's "Split Second" plunges viewers into a dystopian future London, a city ravaged by rising sea levels and stalked by a relentless, non-human killer. Rutger Hauer delivers a signature performance as Harley Stone, a world-weary detective haunted by his past and driven by an unyielding pursuit of justice. The film masterfully blends gritty police procedural elements with science fiction horror, creating a palpable sense of dread and claustrophobia within its waterlogged urban landscape. While the narrative explores familiar themes of corruption and personal redemption, it's elevated by its evocative atmosphere and Hauer's compelling portrayal of a man pushed to his limits. "Split Second" offers a chilling vision of a potential future and a gripping, stylish thriller that rewards fans of the genre.
