SPACE INVASION FROM LAPLAND

Cinemavixion Review

Virgil W. Vogel's "Space Invasion from Lapland" plunges viewers into a chilling B-movie spectacle of the late 1950s. The narrative, driven by the premise of colossal, ice-wielding extraterrestrial entities, offers a classic sci-fi setup. A mysterious meteor crash in the remote landscapes of Lapland sets the stage for an encounter with the unknown, as Dr. Wilson and his team stumble upon an alien vessel and its monstrous inhabitant. The immediate abduction of Dr. Wilson's niece escalates the stakes, propelling the plot into a race against time. While the film may lean into the era's signature blend of earnestness and low-budget ingenuity, it provides a straightforward, engaging adventure for fans of vintage science fiction and monster features. The core conflict between humanity and an otherworldly threat, amplified by the unique 'freezing powers,' creates a memorable, if campy, cinematic experience.
