SONG OF SONGS

Cinemavixion Review

Tobin J.W. Smith's "Song of Songs" (2002) offers a charming, albeit familiar, romantic comedy narrative centered on Jolene, an aspiring musician whose pursuit of her roommate, Josh, leads her on an unexpected cross-country journey. Despite Josh's meticulous criteria for his ideal partner, which Jolene seemingly fails to meet, the film cleverly explores the notion that true connection can be found in the most unexpected places. Kiki Teague and Kevin Otto deliver performances that capture the evolving dynamic between their characters, navigating the comedic mishaps and heartfelt moments of their Austin to Los Angeles road trip. While the film may tread well-worn romantic comedy paths, its earnest portrayal of self-discovery and the serendipity of love offers a pleasant viewing experience, earning a respectable 6.2/10 on IMDb. It's a delightful reminder that sometimes, the person you're looking for has been under your nose all along.
