SOCIAL MEDIA ADDICTS ANONYMOUS

Cinemavixion Review

This insightful documentary, "Social Media Addicts Anonymous," plunges into the pervasive struggle against digital dependency. Directed by Simon Goodman and released in 2018, the film follows six individuals as they place their trust in a psychotherapist's specialized care, aiming to sever their ties with the incessant demands of social media platforms. The narrative compellingly captures the initial shock and challenge of enforced abstinence, posing critical questions about the potential for life-altering change when one goes "cold turkey" from their digital fix. It serves as a stark, relevant examination of a modern epidemic, prompting viewers to reflect on their own relationship with technology and the very real impact it has on our lives. The documentary's concise runtime makes it an accessible yet potent exploration of a contemporary societal issue.
