SNOWBEAST

Cinemavixion Review

Released in 1977, "Snowbeast" delivers a chilling tale of a monstrous creature terrorizing a Colorado ski resort. The film excels in building suspense, masterfully utilizing the isolated, snow-laden setting to enhance the dread as skiers become prey to an unseen terror. Director Herb Wallerstein crafts a palpable sense of fear, particularly as the initial disbelief among the resort's inhabitants gives way to the horrifying reality of a beastly threat. The narrative cleverly plays on the audience's expectations, making the eventual reveal of the creature all the more impactful. While the special effects may reflect its era, the film's strength lies in its atmospheric tension and its exploration of primal fear in a seemingly idyllic winter wonderland. "Snowbeast" remains a compelling watch for fans of creature features and '70s horror.
