SLIPPING WIVES

Cinemavixion Review

Laurel and Hardy's 'Slipping Wives' (1927) offers a delightful glimpse into the early comedic genius of the iconic duo. This short film, directed by Fred Guiol, showcases Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in their signature roles, navigating a plot that, while perhaps a bit dated, still manages to elicit chuckles. The chemistry between Laurel and Hardy is palpable, even in these nascent stages, laying the groundwork for the legendary partnership that would define comedy for decades. While not their most complex work, 'Slipping Wives' is a charming piece of cinematic history, appreciated for its contribution to the enduring legacy of slapstick and character-driven humor. Its modest runtime makes it a perfect, lighthearted watch for fans and newcomers alike.
