SLINK

Cinemavixion Review

Jared Masters' 2013 independent thriller, "Slink," plunges viewers into the unsettling atmosphere of Wickenhaven, a rural town where appearances are deceiving and darkness lurks beneath a veneer of normalcy. The film masterfully weaves a tale of psychological terror, centering on a psychotic tanning salon owner whose nefarious activities are disturbingly intertwined with his wife's exotic purse design business. The local description hints at a chilling narrative of disappearances and overlooked evil, while the external data expands on this by introducing a complex family inheritance plot that further complicates the unfolding mystery. Anchored by performances from Julia Faye West, who embodies the unsettling nature of the town's underbelly, and a cast that navigates the murky waters of moral ambiguity, "Slink" explores the sinister side of suburban life. Despite its modest reception, evidenced by its IMDb rating, the film offers a compelling, albeit dark, exploration of hidden crimes and complicity, making it a noteworthy watch for fans of character-driven thrillers with a disturbing edge.
