SLAUGHTERHOUSE ROCK

Cinemavixion Review

Dimitri Logothetis's 'Slaughterhouse Rock' plunges viewers into a disquieting narrative centered on a man drawn to the spectral echoes of Alcatraz. Haunted by visions of the prison's tragic past, his visit takes a sinister turn when his brother succumbs to a malevolent, cannibalistic entity. The film grapples with themes of inherited trauma and supernatural possession, set against the imposing backdrop of the infamous island penitentiary. While the premise offers a chilling descent into horror, the execution navigates the fine line between psychological dread and visceral terror. The performances, particularly the descent into possession, are key to the film's impact, aiming to unsettle and disturb. It's a journey into the dark heart of a place steeped in history and despair.
