SLASHER.COM

Cinemavixion Review

Chip Gubera's "Slasher.com" plunges viewers into the disquieting intersection of modern technology and primal fear. The narrative follows Jack and Kristy, whose burgeoning online romance takes a terrifying turn during a secluded getaway. What begins as an exploration of new love quickly devolves into a desperate fight for survival against unforeseen horrors lurking in the Missouri woodlands. Gubera masterfully juxtaposes the intimacy of digital connection with the stark isolation of rural terror, creating a palpable sense of dread. The performances by Ben Kaplan and Jessica Waller ground the escalating nightmare, making their plight all the more compelling. While the film has garnered a modest reception, its thematic exploration of how technology can both connect and endanger us, leading to a chilling confrontation with a sinister family, offers a timely and unsettling cinematic experience.
