SKULLDUGGERY

Cinemavixion Review

Ota Richter's 1983 film "Skullduggery" plunges into the grim narrative of Adam, a man burdened by a hereditary curse that compels him towards a violent spree. The film, starring David Calderisi, Wendy Crewson, and Thom Haverstock, attempts to weave a tale of inherited doom and its inescapable consequences. While the premise offers a dark exploration of fate, the critical reception, as suggested by its IMDb rating of 2.6/10, indicates that "Skullduggery" may not fully realize its chilling potential. Despite its shortcomings, the film remains a testament to independent Canadian cinema of the era, offering a stark, albeit flawed, look at the darker side of familial legacy.
