SKINNED | BEAUTY IS NOT SKIN DEEP | CUTE ROMANCE DRAMA MOVIE!

Cinemavixion Review

In "Skinned," a poignant drama that delves into the complexities of self-perception and societal pressures, we follow a young woman's misguided quest for romantic acceptance. Her journey, driven by deep-seated insecurities surrounding her skin color and a distorted understanding of beauty, leads her down a perilous path of skin bleaching. The narrative compellingly explores the devastating consequences of internalizing harmful beauty standards, as her pursuit of an idealized image transforms her beyond recognition. This film serves as a powerful, albeit somber, examination of the search for love and validation in a world that often dictates narrow definitions of attractiveness. It invites viewers to contemplate the true nature of beauty and the profound impact of self-acceptance.
