Cinemavixion Review

Released in 1938, Sam Newfield's "Six-Gun Trail" offers a brisk, albeit familiar, entry into the Western genre. Starring the stoic Tim McCoy as Captain Carson, the narrative follows a clever ruse to apprehend jewel thieves. Carson adopts a disguise as a Chinaman to establish a jewelry store near the border, employing a high-stakes poker game to draw out his quarry. The plot thickens as the thieves, recognizing Carson's success, agree to a sale only to plot his demise. While the film may not break new ground, its straightforward execution and McCoy's reliable performance make it a watchable piece of classic Western cinema. The supporting cast, including Nora Lane and Ben Corbett, effectively rounds out this tale of frontier justice.
