SILENT RETREAT

Cinemavixion Review

Ace Jordan's "Silent Retreat" plunges viewers into a chilling narrative set within the confines of an isolated lodge, a former mental institution with a dark past. The film masterfully builds suspense as six employees of a media company find their corporate getaway transform into a terrifying ordeal when one of their own vanishes. As they unravel the sinister history of the lodge, uncovering allegations of misconduct and buried secrets, the guests become targets, picked off one by one. While the film may not have garnered widespread critical acclaim, as indicated by its IMDb rating, it delivers a competent thriller experience for fans of psychological horror and mystery. The performances, particularly from Donnie Boaz and Rebecca Pitkin (or Summers, as listed externally), anchor the escalating dread, making "Silent Retreat" a noteworthy, if unsettling, exploration of how past transgressions can haunt the present.
