SHOW YOURSELF

Cinemavixion Review

Billy Ray Brewton's 'Show Yourself' delves into the raw aftermath of grief with a disquieting blend of psychological drama and creeping horror. The narrative centers on Travis, a young man grappling with the sudden death of his friend Paul, whose journey into the woods becomes a descent into something far more primal than mere mourning. Brewton masterfully uses the isolation of the wilderness to mirror Travis's internal turmoil, allowing a palpable sense of unease to permeate the screen. The film excels in its atmospheric tension, hinting at a presence that is both inexplicable and deeply unsettling, transforming a story of loss into a chilling encounter with the unknown. While the external data notes a modest IMDb rating, the film's strength lies in its thematic exploration of how sorrow can manifest in terrifying ways, making it a compelling watch for those drawn to introspective horror.
