SHE WAS ABUSED AND NO ONE BELIEVED HER

Cinemavixion Review

This drama delves into the harrowing aftermath of trauma and the complex landscape of trust. The narrative centers on Maddie, a young woman grappling with repressed memories and the societal disbelief she faced after a high school assault. Her burgeoning friendship with Laurel, the nanny for a wealthy family she tutors for, initially offers solace. However, the relationship soon takes a darker, more possessive turn, raising concerns among Maddie's loyal friends, Paige and James. As flashbacks reveal the crushing weight of unpunished injustice and shattered dreams, Maddie finds herself at a critical juncture, forced to discern genuine support from manipulative intent. The film navigates themes of betrayal, the insidious nature of gaslighting, and the arduous journey toward healing and self-advocacy, questioning who truly has Maddie's best interests at heart.
