SHADOWS

Cinemavixion Review

Michael Matteo Rossi's "Shadows" plunges viewers into a gritty urban landscape where a young dealer finds himself at the center of a dangerous conflict. The narrative skillfully weaves a tale of familial obligation and survival as the protagonist is thrust back into the orbit of his estranged mother and uncle. This reunion, however, is not one of comfort but of necessity, as a powerful drug kingpin places a hit on his head. The film benefits from a strong ensemble, with notable performances from Krista Allen, Francis Capra, and Vernon Wells, who bring depth and gravitas to their roles. Rossi navigates the tension with a keen eye, exploring themes of loyalty and the desperate measures one takes when cornered. "Shadows" is a compelling crime drama that offers a tense, character-driven experience, underscored by its exploration of fractured family ties amidst a world of violence.
