SHADOWPLAY

Cinemavixion Review

Derek Osedach's "SHADOWPLAY" plunges viewers into an unsettling existential quandary. The premise is starkly effective: three individuals awaken in a confined, windowless, and doorless space, their pasts erased, their present a shared enigma. This claustrophobic setup serves as a potent metaphor for memory loss and the human drive to construct identity even in the most dire circumstances. The performances of Elly Jaresko, A.J. Castro, and Brian Atkinson are central to the film's success, navigating the psychological toll of their predicament with palpable desperation and dawning realization. As the characters grapple with fragmented clues and their own fractured selves, the narrative unfolds as a compelling mystery that probes the very nature of connection and consciousness. It's a thought-provoking exploration of what remains when all else is stripped away.
