SEX MADNESS

Cinemavixion Review

Dwain Esper's "Sex Madness" stands as a provocative artifact from a bygone era, a film audaciously grappling with themes of venereal disease and sexual recklessness. Banned in numerous states, its notoriety is matched only by its cult status within the exploitation cinema canon. The film operates as a stark cautionary tale, weaving a narrative that, while rooted in the moralistic anxieties of the 1930s, delves into the societal taboos surrounding sexual health and ignorance. Esper, a master of sensationalist filmmaking, crafts a visual and thematic experience that, despite its age, continues to resonate with audiences interested in the intersection of social commentary and daring cinematic expression. Its historical significance and unflinching portrayal of taboo subjects make it a compelling, albeit challenging, watch for cinephiles.
