SEPTEMBER RAYNE

Cinemavixion Review

Cassandra Bell's 'September Rayne' plunges viewers into the gritty underbelly of Chicago, where a group of friends, bound by shared trauma, form a robbery ring as a means of survival. The narrative takes a sharp, dangerous turn when their illicit activities ensnare high-profile politicians, casting them as prime suspects in brutal murders. Bell masterfully crafts a tense atmosphere, exploring themes of loyalty, desperation, and the corrosive effects of grief. The performances, particularly from Harold Dennis and Terry King, anchor the film's emotional weight, portraying characters pushed to their limits. While the plot escalates into a thrilling crime drama, the film's true strength lies in its unflinching look at the psychological toll of past tragedies. 'September Rayne' is a compelling character study wrapped in a crime thriller, offering a raw and thought-provoking cinematic experience.
