SAVAGE JOURNEY

Cinemavixion Review

Tom McGowan's "Savage Journey" from 1983 offers a stark portrayal of the American West, chronicling the immense hardship and unwavering determination inherent in the process of settlement. While the film may not boast widespread critical acclaim, its narrative delves into the grit and resilience required to carve out a life in a unforgiving landscape. The story, supported by a cast including Maurice Grandmaison and Paul Wharton, aims to capture the raw essence of westward expansion, focusing on the personal struggles and triumphs of those who dared to venture into the unknown. For viewers interested in the more grounded and less romanticized aspects of Western expansion, "Savage Journey" provides a compelling, albeit somber, look at this pivotal era in American history.
