RUNNING TARGET

Cinemavixion Review

Marvin R. Weinstein's "Running Target" plunges viewers into the rugged Colorado Rockies, presenting a compelling Western narrative centered on Sheriff Scott's pursuit of escaped convicts. Released in 1956, the film, featuring a solid cast including Doris Dowling, Arthur Franz, and Richard Reeves, delves into the moral complexities of law enforcement. Sheriff Scott's internal struggle between duty and his aversion to killing adds a layer of depth beyond a typical manhunt. The inclusion of supporting characters like the eager Jaynes and the enigmatic "Smitty" promises intriguing subplots, hinting at motives beyond the immediate capture. This Western offers a thoughtful exploration of justice and humanity against a visually striking backdrop, making it a noteworthy entry for fans of the genre.
