RUNNING SPRINGS

Cinemavixion Review

Wil Castillo's 2006 drama, "Running Springs," offers a tense exploration of marital dynamics under duress. The narrative centers on three couples whose idyllic weekend retreat devolves into a crucible of exposed secrets and simmering resentments. Anchored by a committed ensemble cast, including Elisa Nixon, Erica Shaffer, and Dennis Y. Takeda, the film skillfully navigates the complexities of long-term relationships, probing the fragility of trust and the consequences of unspoken truths. While the plot may tread familiar ground, the film's strength lies in its intimate portrayal of emotional turmoil and the stark realization that sometimes, the greatest threats come from within. "Running Springs" is a compelling character study that resonates with its unflinching look at the darker undercurrents that can surface even in the most intimate settings.
