RUNNING ON EMPTY DREAMS

Cinemavixion Review

Nitara Lee Osbourne's 'Running on Empty Dreams' presents a poignant, albeit melodramatic, exploration of life's precariousness and the unexpected turns love can take. The narrative centers on Sydney Harris, a woman facing a terminal diagnosis and the daunting task of securing funds for treatment. This ticking clock serves as a catalyst for Sydney's profound self-examination, leading her down a path of questioning her deeply ingrained beliefs and discovering a nascent love with a neighbor. Kathleen Benner's portrayal of Sydney navigates the complex emotional terrain of fear, desire, and existential dread with commendable sincerity. While the film's pacing occasionally falters, its emotional core resonates, offering a thought-provoking, if somber, look at love, faith, and the desperate fight for survival against overwhelming odds.
