RUM RUNNERS

Cinemavixion Review

William Nelson's "Rum Runners" plunges viewers into a Prohibition-era tale of high-stakes bootlegging and desperate escapes. Inspired by true events, the film chronicles the perilous journey of Vic Hanson and Don Calyer as they navigate the treacherous Canadian border with illegal liquor. The narrative excels in its pacing, weaving a thrilling tapestry of car chases and aerial pursuits that culminate in a breathless climax. Yves Bright and Brian Stuart Boyd deliver compelling performances as the unlikely duo, their camaraderie tested by escalating danger. The introduction of Tiny, a menacing figure with ties to the Chicago mob, injects a potent dose of conflict, transforming the story into a relentless pursuit of vengeance. While the film's IMDb rating suggests a niche appeal, its adventurous spirit and dramatic tension make "Rum Runners" a captivating watch for those drawn to tales of daring outlaws and the consequences of their illicit trade.
