ROUTE 666

Cinemavixion Review

William Wesley's 'Route 666' plunges viewers into a desolate Arizona desert, offering a gritty blend of action and supernatural horror. The film follows a federal witness and his escorts who, seeking a shortcut, find themselves on a cursed stretch of highway haunted by the undead specters of a past tragedy. Lou Diamond Phillips and Lori Petty deliver solid performances as the agents tasked with protecting the witness, navigating both earthly mob threats and unearthly horrors. While the film garnered a nomination, its narrative, though intriguing, occasionally falters under the weight of its ambitious premise. Nevertheless, 'Route 666' provides a unique, albeit sometimes uneven, cinematic journey into the macabre, exploring themes of consequence and the lingering darkness of forgotten places. It's a B-movie with a bite, worth exploring for fans of supernatural thrillers.
