ROSA LEIGH

Cinemavixion Review

Christopher Maggard's "ROSA LEIGH" plunges viewers into the chilling narrative of the abandoned Ruth Lee Elementary School, a site of unimaginable tragedy sixty years prior. The film follows a group of paranormal investigators venturing into the derelict halls, ostensibly to debunk local legends surrounding the demise of a young girl, Rosa Leigh, her teacher, and the janitor. However, their skepticism proves to be their undoing as they inadvertently awaken a malevolent presence. Maggard crafts a palpable atmosphere of dread, utilizing the desolate school setting to amplify the suspense. While the film leans into familiar haunted house tropes, its strength lies in its commitment to building a brooding, unsettling mood. The performances, particularly from the ensemble cast tasked with navigating the escalating terror, effectively convey a sense of growing unease. "ROSA LEIGH" is a commendable effort in the horror genre, offering a tightly focused descent into supernatural darkness that should resonate with fans of atmospheric ghost stories.
