ROAD TO BALI

Cinemavixion Review

Hal Walker's 1953 musical comedy, 'Road to Bali,' stars the iconic duo of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope as two charming rogues attempting to escape inconvenient wedding plans in Melbourne. Their escapade leads them to a tropical island where they both vie for the attention of the alluring Princess Lala, portrayed by the ever-glamorous Dorothy Lamour. Known for its lighthearted humor and musical numbers, the film is further distinguished as the only installment in the 'Road to...' series to be filmed in vibrant color. The direction by Hal Walker ensures a continuous stream of gags and song-and-dance routines, with uncredited cameos from Hollywood heavyweights like Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, and Jane Russell adding to the film's considerable entertainment value.
