RICH KIDS

Cinemavixion Review

Laura Somers' "Rich Kids" offers a poignant, albeit brief, exploration of escapism and class disparity. Released in 2018, the film follows a group of teenagers from a disadvantaged background who find temporary solace by infiltrating a luxurious mansion. The premise, which centers on their day of pretend affluence as a balm for their harsh realities, is compelling. The performances by Gerardo M Velasquez, Justin Rodriguez, and Michelle Magallon anchor the narrative with a believable portrayal of youthful longing and desperation. While details on its box office performance and wider critical reception are scarce, the film's narrative strength lies in its empathetic depiction of characters seeking refuge from their circumstances. "Rich Kids" is a noteworthy indie drama that invites reflection on the dreams and desires that transcend economic boundaries.
