RESTART THE EARTH

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Restart the Earth,' director Zhenzhao Lin presents a chillingly plausible eco-thriller where humanity's desperate attempt to combat desertification backfires spectacularly. The film posits a near-future where advanced pharmaceuticals designed to accelerate plant growth inadvertently awaken plant intelligence, leading to a global green uprising that threatens civilization itself. The narrative follows a joint action team tasked with deploying a counter-agent, their perilous journey through overgrown urban ruins forming the core of the plot. While the IMDb rating suggests a mixed reception, the film's compelling premise, bolstered by the performances of Mickey He, Mingcan Zhang, and Mi Luo, offers a thought-provoking exploration of ecological consequences and humanity's precarious relationship with nature. It's a visually striking cautionary tale that resonates with contemporary environmental concerns.
