RESONANCE

Cinemavixion Review

Siar Sedig's 2018 film "Resonance" plunges viewers into a chilling isolation with a young couple seeking respite in a remote wilderness. What begins as a simple getaway quickly devolves into a terrifying ordeal as they encounter inexplicable, resonant noises emanating from the forest's depths. These sounds, far from being mere auditory disturbances, inflict severe psychological and physical tolls, leading to internal bleeding and the disruption of all electronic communication. As Elena's condition worsens and Max realizes escape is impossible through conventional means, they must venture directly into the heart of the woods, confronting whatever malevolent force resists their departure. Despite a modest reception, evidenced by its 3.7 IMDb rating, "Resonance" is noted for its compelling premise and atmospheric tension, earning 11 wins and 10 nominations. It stands as a testament to indie filmmaking's ability to craft unsettling narratives within confined, yet expansive, natural settings.
