RESIDENTS OF ARCADIA

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Residents of Arcadia,' director Dom Cutrupi crafts a chilling narrative that delves into the unsettling fragility of curated online personas. The film stars Nick Preston and Ishaval Gill as a seemingly idyllic influencer couple whose perfect existence is shattered by an intruder and a disquieting countdown clock. As the numbers dwindle, the facade of their meticulously constructed life begins to crumble, revealing the anxieties and hidden truths lurking beneath the surface. Cutrupi masterfully builds suspense, using the confines of their home to amplify the psychological tension. Preston and Gill deliver compelling performances, navigating the emotional descent from polished contentment to raw vulnerability. While the film's pacing occasionally falters, its exploration of modern anxieties and the pervasive influence of social media makes it a thought-provoking watch.
