REGGIE YATES EXTREME UK - THE SECRET LIVES OF BLACK & MUSLIM LGBTQ+ YOUTH

Cinemavixion Review

Reggie Yates, an acclaimed filmmaker known for his incisive documentaries, delves into the complex and often fraught experiences of young Black and Muslim LGBTQ+ individuals in 'The Secret Lives of Black & Muslim LGBTQ+ Youth'. Yates bravely confronts the challenging reality that these young people frequently face their most significant criticism and ostracization not from the wider society, but from within their own communities and even their own families. This documentary is part of Yates's broader body of work, which investigates weighty global issues ranging from gun violence and racism to LGBTQ+ rights and addiction, with past investigations taking him from Cape Town to Chicago and London to Moscow. His commitment to exploring the 'extremes of life' has cemented his reputation for producing critically lauded and impactful documentaries over the last five years.
