RECLAIMING ROLLER DERBY - EPISODE 6

Cinemavixion Review

This episode, 'Reclaiming Roller Derby - Episode 6', dives into the calmer summer season following a tumultuous spring. The Grudges face a single, aggressive opponent, demonstrating significant growth since their Quebec match. A new initiative, the Gender Fender Bender club, is launched by Nardin and Wren, fostering mentorship through shared personal experiences, such as the initial testosterone treatment. As the Grudges prepare for their first international tryouts, the roster announcement brings disappointing news. Despite this, the team travels to Montreal for the International Championships, embracing the experience with matching tattoos and reflecting on their journey. The series itself highlights a diverse ensemble of women and non-binary individuals deeply committed to roller derby. It explores how their relationships, attitudes, and skills are pushed to the limit as they strive for world-class status, all while attempting to preserve the unique charm that defines their team.
