RARE BIRDS

Cinemavixion Review

This Canadian dark comedy, "Rare Birds," offers a quirky and engaging narrative centered on Dave, a restaurateur whose business is on the brink of collapse. The plot takes a sharp turn when a ruse involving a fictional rare bird sighting unexpectedly revitalizes his establishment. Directed by Sturla Gunnarsson, the film masterfully blends elements of drama and mystery, exploring themes of desperation and the absurd lengths one might go to for survival. William Hurt's performance anchors the film, portraying Dave's struggles with compelling depth. While the premise might seem outlandish, the film delves into the human condition with a darkly humorous touch, making it a thought-provoking watch for those seeking something beyond the conventional.
