RAGE AT DAWN

Cinemavixion Review

Tim Whelan's 'Rage at Dawn' plunges viewers into the turbulent landscape of 1866 Indiana, offering a compelling Western narrative. Randolph Scott embodies the stoic operative James Barlow, tasked with infiltrating the notorious Reno brothers gang. The film masterfully navigates Barlow's dual existence, caught between his duty and a burgeoning, complicated affection for Laura Reno, played with nuanced reluctance. The plot, centered around a daring dawn train robbery, builds palpable tension, showcasing the director's adeptness at blending outlaw grit with frontier justice. While the external data suggests a runtime of 87 minutes, the film's impact resonates far beyond its duration, delivering a satisfying exploration of loyalty, deception, and the inherent risks of playing a dangerous game.
