QUEEN OF THE SEAS

Cinemavixion Review

Umberto Lenzi's "Queen of the Seas" plunges viewers into a swashbuckling tale of identity and rebellion in 1961. Lisa Gastoni delivers a captivating performance as Mary, a spirited young woman who adopts a male persona to navigate the treacherous waters of piracy and high society. The narrative skillfully weaves themes of deception and ambition as Mary rises through the ranks, eventually commanding respect as a pirate captain. Jerome Courtland provides a compelling foil as Peter Goodwin, a nobleman entangled in Mary's daring escapades. While the film may not boast extensive accolades, its adventurous spirit and strong central performance make it a noteworthy entry for fans of classic pirate adventures.
