QUEEN OF THE AMAZONS

Cinemavixion Review

Edward Finney's "Queen of the Amazons" (1946) plunges viewers into a whirlwind of adventure and mystery, set against the exotic backdrops of India and Africa. The narrative follows Jean Preston as she embarks on a perilous journey to find her missing fiancé, Greg Jones. Aided by the capable guide Gary Lambert and his comic companion Gabby, their expedition is fraught with danger, sabotage, and murder. The plot thickens considerably when they discover Greg alive, but under the sway of the captivating Amazon queen, Zita. As the body count rises, Lambert races against time to unravel a smuggling ring and unmask a killer. While the film may not have garnered major awards, its B-movie charm and pulpy storyline offer a diverting escapade. Patricia Morison's portrayal of the determined Jean Preston anchors the film, while the exotic setting and escalating suspense provide ample entertainment for fans of classic jungle adventures.
